main

fsi is a web portal and some additional installation, configuration and update functions for:
- VMware ESXi 5.x, 6.x and 7.x
- Citrix XenServer 6.x, 7.x and Citrix Hypervisor 8.x
- XCP-ng Server 7.x and 8.x
- CentOS 5.x, 6.x, 7.x, 8.x and RockyLinux/Alma Linux 8.x and 9.x
- RedHat Enterprise 5.x, 6.x, 7.x, 8.x and 9.x

In the fsi portal you can add or import different server configuration. The installation and running servers are monitored with some detail views. Each detail server web page has the posibility to patch the server with new fixes or updates. Rudimentary virtual machine actions can use to prepare these server for update/reboots.

A virtual machine cloning uses VMware API to clone / backup virtual machines. Controlled through schedule you can start a backup rotation scheme Grandfather-father-son or simple unique. Clones can be put on ESXi datastores and scp/nfs/cifs targets. Clone process is running with online and offline virtual machines.

The fsi web portal and the installation functions run on their own fsi deploy server. This distribution, installation, configuration, administration and monitoring server is the central heart of fsi.

Although fsi is not a 100% perfect and ready-made solution by my Swabian standard, it is currently used to support about 90 ESXi servers, more than 500 XenServers and nearly 50 Linux VMs and servers on Dell, HPE, Fujitsu and Lenovo hardware at several very large companies and institutions.

Various programming languages were also used, such as Bash, Perl, Python and Javascript. Also HTML5, CSS or other languages or file structures as YAML, JSON or TT2.
